Hello, I am Pastor Kevin Bond along side my wife Sister Debbie, we are both glad that you have stopped by for a visit on the blog.  I am the Associate Pastor at Refuge church, Enterprise, Al.  My vision is for souls to be saved and to serve our Lord to the fullest potential that I possibly can. I want this year to be the year that I am "possessed by the Holy Spirit"! I am excited to see what lays in store for all who serve the Lord Jesus Christ! We must intensify our pursuits of God in this hour. We must pray more, study the Word more, meditate on the Word more, fast more, and fellowship with the Saints more. This hour demands more of God in our lives and a greater level of Faith. Time is drawing near for our Lords return, are you prepared to meet HIM?

When you are feeling down and need to encourage yourself in the Lord...Look no further: I have posted a few of the names of the Lord. It is a powerful reminder that HE truly is all I (we) need:

JEHOVAH ~ "The Self-Existent One," "I AM WHO I AM" or 'I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE"
JEHOVAH-JIREH ~ "The Lord will Provide." God always provides, adequate when the times come.

JEHOVAH-ROPHE ~ "The Lord Who Heals." God heals body, soul and spirit; all levels of man's being.
JEHOVAH-M'KADDESH ~ "The Lord Who Sanctifies." "To make whole, set apart for holiness."
JEHOVAH-SHALOM ~ "The Lord Our Peace." Shalom means that kind of peace that results from being a whole person in right relationship to God and to one's fellow man.
JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU ~ "The Lord Our Righteousness".
JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH ~ "The Lord is There" .

And a few more:
Adonai-Jehovah -- The Lord our Sovereign
El-Elyon -- The Lord Most High
El-Olam -- The Everlasting God
El-Shaddai -- The God Who is Sufficient for the Needs of His People
Jehovah-Elohim -- The Eternal Creator
Jehovah-Jireh -- The Lord our Provider
Jehovah-Nissi -- The Lord our Banner
Jehovah-Sabaoth -- The Lord of Hosts
Jehovah-Rohi -- The Lord our Shepherd
Jehovah-Hoseenu -- The Lord our Maker
Jehovah-Eloheenu -- The Lord our God

When I look at Him and the power of His name, my sufficiency runs out and I am thankful that He provides and truly is: The All Sufficient One.

Some questions to ponder today:

In what areas of your life are you not allowing God to be your Soul Provider, the All-Sufficient One?
What problems do you need to hand over to Him?
Do you find yourself in a place of weakness right now?
Is your soul thirsty?
There is an answer and He is "The All Sufficient One."

The Power of Words

We have all heard of the power that our words hold. Bad words can cut and wound while uplifting, good words can bring blessing and joy. Everyday there is a balance in what not to say and then what needs to be said. The Bible gives us guidelines and says much about our words.

One of my favorite verses to help me keep my mouth in check is Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers."
A recent article broke this verse down, and I found there is a wealth of wisdom for us to learn about our words.

Let - every word I say is a choice that I make

no - none - there should be no reason or excuse for unwholesome words to come out of my mouth. Bad days, being emotional, someone speaking harshly to us etc. There is no allowance for Christians to speak unkindly toward others.

corrupt - rotten, unwholesome, ugly language. These words leave a bad taste in our mouths. They suck the life out of us and defile us. There is no room for corrupt words in a Christian's vocabulary.

word - words hold power. with a word, hopes can be dashed, or hearts can be lifted.

proceed - spoken words flow towards others by either washing them in kindness of drowning them in mire.

out of your mouth - our own words, not anyone elses is where our attention needs to be.

but - there is a choice or turning point

good - this encompasses what is beautiful and pleasant. Good words bring life and joy.

necessary - everyone needs to be built up and encouraged, words of grace are not a luxury, but a necessity.

edification - building up, strengthening or making better. Words can do that. Kind words bring healing and hope.

The very last portion of this verse is critical: "that it may impart grace to the hearers." We should always be meticulous with our words because they are a potential source of grace - God's grace - to people who need it. Our words have the power to give life to others. What a great opportunity and responsibility. God allows us to share His grace with others to give them hope and to refresh their souls.

Youth Camp

The last 2 wks we have been in Ohio having youth camps. The first camp was in Springfield, Ohio and full of bus kids ages 12-19. These kids come from all walks of life. Some were full of hate, anger, fear, depression, disappointment, loneliness, hopelessness, and so much more. However, can I just say that God showed and poured out His sweet holy ghost upon these kids. Lives were being transformed, changed, filled the holy ghost, and some were giving their hearts to Christ for the first time!!! What an amazing week!

Last week we were in southern Ohio and God once again showed up for the kids there!!! Teens answering there call into the ministry, getting filled with the holy ghost, four hour alter service one after I preached on "Lauch out into the deep and do what God is Called you to do!!!"   My what a time!  Can I just say that only time will tell what God did in these camps and looking for so much more in the rest of the camps we get to go preach this summer. Thank you to all our church family for supporting this Great work God has called us to do!!!

Keep praying for us as we go forward in Christ....

Love,  Pastor Adkins
